Hamilton unable to attend Sutil trial

According to reports, Lewis Hamilton's lawyers have indicated that the Briton will not be able to testify in Adrian Sutil's trial on the requested date.

Sutil has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Eric Lux, the co-owner of Luxembourg Investment Company Genii, whom he allegedly stabbed in the neck with a glass.

Hamilton was due to appear in a Munich court on January 30 to give evidence but according the BBC, Hamilton's lawyer has contacted the judge involved in the case to say that Hamilton will not be able to attend due to work commitments. McLaren are set to launch their 2012 challenger on February 1. The 27-year-old remains committed to co-operating with the investigation.
