Adrian Sutil has moved a step closer to a Formula One return after having a seat-fitting with Force India.
The German, who was axed from the team after the 2011 season amidst charges of grievous bodily harm for which he was later handed a 18-month suspended sentence and fined £167,000.
Sutil, though, could yet return to the sport this season with Force India.
The 30-year-old visited the team's factory on Thursday for a seat-fitting and could be in action as early as next week's Barcelona test.
"At this stage the test driving schedule for the Barcelona test is not finalised, but there is a possibility Adrian could be involved," a Force India spokesman told Reuters.
"The driving schedule will be communicated on Monday."
