Marussia boss targeting more points

Last Sunday's Monaco GP points won't be Marussia's last of this season, that's according to team boss John Booth.

Jules Bianchi's scored Marussia's first-ever F1 World Championship points last time out in Monaco when he brought his car home in ninth place.

The Frenchman fought back from a drop on the grid as well as two five-second stop-go penalties to score his and the team's first points.

However, Booth believes those won't be Marussia's only points, confident there will be other races where Bianchi and his team-mate Max Chilton can fight for top-ten results.

"It does, definitely," he told Crash.net when asked if last Sunday's points altered the team's goal.

"We think that we can do it now.

"We think that we can perform at this level - maybe not at places like Canada, Monza and Spa might be quite difficult for us - but in Austria, Silverstone, Hungary we think we can repeat this level of performance there."

And although last Sunday's points could yet guarantee Marussia 10th place in the Constructors' Championship, Booth says the Monaco result is about more than just the money.

"There's financial potential, but it gives us belief in what we're doing," he added.

"We're a small band of people, we're 193 people in total - I think we're 130 less than any other team - and it gives us faith in the work we do and what we do.

"We brought some very small parts to the car in Barcelona, we started unlocking that potential in the test at Barcelona so we came here with a lot of hope.

"But when I say a few small parts, I mean a few small parts that cost a few thousand pounds; it's not a £100,000 upgrade, it's a few thousand pounds.

"So it gives us a lot of belief in what we're doing."
