HRT cars sold to recycler

HRT's Formula One cars have reportedly been sold for scrap to a Madrid-based parts recycler.

HRT closed their doors at the end of last season after failing to find a buyer the struggling Formula One outfit.

In a bid to recoup money, the team sold three 2012 cars - without their Cosworth engines - to Teo Martin, who owns a auto-recycling company.

According to Reuters Martin also purchased 'two 2011 cars, one complete, and a scale model of the 2012 car as well as most of the garage equipment.'

"The other 2011 car has gone to Pirelli," he said.

HRT entered Formula One in 2010, however, the team was dogged by financial issues throughout their brief career which resulted in the outfit's eventual demise.
