Caterham edge closer to line-up

Caterham are due to confirm their second driver for the 2013 Formula One season any day now, according to team boss Cyril Abiteboul.

Frenchman Charles Pic was named as one of their drivers way back in November, but the likes of Vitaly Petrov, Bruno Senna and Luiz Razia have been made to wait for an announcement.

Petrov was the front-runner but his manager has admitted in recent days that talks with the Leafield-based squad have stalled, while Abiteboul has also suggested he would could go with a rookie with the 2014 engine rule changes in mind.

"There are different options. One is someone who he (Pic) can learn from," Abiteboul told Eastern Daily Press.

"Another, more radical, is to accept the fact 2013 is a transition year we use to continue building the team before a period of greater stability in 2014, when a lot of other things in the package will change.

"Both types are out there, and we are close to making a decision."
