Boullier: Renault happy to race in Bahrain

Eric Boullier says Renault are "happy" to race in Bahrain but only if the safety of the team and people living there is guaranteed.

On Friday, the FIA confirmed that Formula One would head to Bahrain this season with the race taking place on October 30th.

The decision, though, has not been welcomed by many.

While Mark Webber and Max Mosley feel F1 should take a stand against the on-goings in Bahrain, Felipe Massa has revealed that many drivers have concerns for their safety.

However, Boullier insists that should the race go ahead, which is still unclear, Renault won't mind racing there.

"Lotus Renault GP acknowledge the decision made by the FIA World Motor Sport Council," said the Renault team boss.

"That decision is likely to be discussed internally within FOTA, and a more detailed joint position may be defined after those discussions have taken place.

"I have already spoken at length about our team's position recently: we are happy to go to Bahrain as long as our safety and the security of the people living there is guaranteed."
