Di Resta hit with grid penalty

Paul di Resta's Italian GP hopes were dealt a blow on Saturday with news that he has been handed a five-place grid penalty.

The Force India driver has shown some pace this weekend at Monza, finishing third quickest in Saturday's final practice, just 0.271s off the pace.

However, his chances of following that up with a good grid position have been hampered by a gearbox penalty.

Force India were forced to change the Scot's gearbox ahead of final practice and, under F1 regulations, that comes with an automatic five-place penalty.

Di Resta is currently 15th in the Drivers' Championship on 28 points with a best result of P6 which he achieved in Bahrain.
