Maldonado: Push to the maximum

Pastor Maldonado believes points are on the table for Sunday's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after qualifying his Williams in fourth place.

The Spanish Grand Prix winner was in fine form on Saturday evening as the Yas Marina circuit, mixing it up with the front runners on his way to a 1:41.226.

That put him fourth on the grid, the fourth time this season he has been on the front two rows and, he's hoping, will lead to the fourth time this season that he scores points.

"We have shown all weekend that we are quite competitive," he told journalists at the track.

"I did my best in qualifying. The car was there, I'm happy for the team and happy for myself. I'm happy for tomorrow."

He added: "We need to look at ourselves. Points will be important for us.

"I will push to the maximum and we will see. I think we have strong pace and are competitive like the top teams."
