Hamilton wants inaugural CoTA win

Lewis Hamilton believes F1 can look forward to some "close racing" at the inaugural grand prix at the Circuit of the Americas.

Formula One is heading to Austin, Texas next week for the first United States GP to be held at the new CoTA track.

Already the circuit is receiving rave reviews with Hamilton adamant the layout will be conducive to an exciting race.

"I think the Circuit Of The Americas looks like it could also be the place that modern Formula 1 finally calls home," said the McLaren driver.

"I've only driven it on the computer and in the sim, but I think it's going to be a track that drivers enjoy, which produces some great, close racing, and which fans will quickly love."

And when all is said and done after the 55 laps, the 27-year-old hopes to have claimed the maiden win.

"This is a new circuit, a new challenge and a new opportunity - I'm definitely looking to be the first grand prix winner at the Circuit Of The Americas."
