Marussia seeking new engine partner

Marussia are expecting to change engine partners at the end of this season as current supplier Cosworth "won't" be making V6 engines.

Next season Formula One brings in a new era with today's 2.4 litre V8s making way for 1.6 litre turbocharged V6 engines.

For Marussia, though, the change not only means a new specification engine but also a new engine partner as sporting director Graeme Lowdon revealed that Cosworth won't be supplying F1 teams next season.

"My understanding is that Cosworth won't be making a 2014 engine," Lowdon said during the FOTA Fans' Forum in Barcelona.

"Obviously I don't work for Cosworth, but that is my understanding. The three suppliers will be Mercedes, Renault and Ferrari."
