Fernando Alonso was content with his qualifying display at the Hungagoring and hopes to come away with a good haul of points come Sunday.
While his Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen had a nightmare and failed to make it out of Q1, Alonso once again kept the flag flying with another solid display in Q3.
Although the F14 T was never able to challenge the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg or the Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo, Alonso managed to qualify ahead of the second Williams of Felipe Massa.
The Spaniard is feeling upbeat about his chances whether the track is dry or wet on race day.
"In Q3 we had the rain and Magnussen's crash, but we stayed calm to get a lap together," the two-time World Champion said.
"P5 on the clean side is good for us. We have a good possibility of a result. Dry or wet, we can be competitive.
"I think we are behind Williams and Red Bull; some circuits a bit better, some circuits a bit worse. We have two Red Bulls ahead, one Williams ahead and one behind. Hopefully we can go into the battle and get some points."
