Maldonado: The decision is mine

Pastor Maldonado says he will decided where he races next season as he has several offers on the table.

The Venezuelan driver is believed to be walking away from Williams at the end of this season and taking with him his lucrative personal backing from PDVSA.

And with those millions behind him, he is not short on offers for next season with Lotus reportedly heading the running.

"The decision will be down to me," he said, "so I prefer to take some more time.

"I really hope to have the decision before the end of the season, still a couple of weeks to go so we'll see.

"I cannot guarantee I will leave the team or I will stay."

One aspect that Maldonado is looking at is which engine supplier each of his potential teams will use.

Next season, Formula One will swap from V8s to 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 units with the 28-year-old backing Mercedes power to shine.

"Mercedes look quite strong so for sure I'm taking that into consideration," he said.
