Hulkenberg: Like I won a grand prix...

It was a mixed bag for Force India in Korea as Nico Hulkenberg felt like he had won a race while Paul di Resta had tyre troubles.

Starting eighth and 14th on the Yeongam grid, the Force India duo were quickly in the thick of things as they tried to make up places.

Hulkenberg, though, was lucky as he was hit from behind by Sauber's Sergio Perez, although the impact did not seem to damage his Force India.

The German raced to sixth place on a Sunday afternoon that saw him involved in several thrilling battles, including overtaking Lewis Hamilton and Romain Grosjean.

"It was quite surprising," he told the BBC. "I had a big smile on my face and was cheering like I won a grand prix.

"I saw an opportunity coming and I chose the right braking side, and I hung in there and did it."

But while Hulkenberg was cheering, his team-mate was bemoaning after a switch to the super-soft tyres did not produce the speed he had hoped for.

"It was a race of bad choices," said the Scot, who finished P12. "The start tyre was not ideal.

"We expected the super-soft to be a better race tyre so we saved that to the second stint but we quickly found that it ground down very quickly."
