Riccardo backs Vettel to rebound

As Red Bull continue to recover, Daniel Ricciardo believes it's only time before Sebastin Vettel gets back "his World Champion form."

Ricciardo claimed the first official podium of his career on Sunday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Finishing third behind the race-winning Mercedes drivers, the Aussie was delighted to finally have a top-three result he could keep.

But while Ricciardo was having a great day at the office, it was a difficult weekend for his team-mate Sebastian Vettel.

An electrical problem on Friday and a gearbox issue on Saturday meant he started P15.

The German, though, put in a fantastic drive to finish fourth with Ricciardo backing the reigning Champ to recover.

"I just sort of heard on the radio that he was making progress through the field and when he was in fourth - I think he made a move in the last few laps so really good," said the former Toro Rosso driver.

"I definitely see it as a positive for the team, third and fourth, particularly after his starting position.

"Obviously Mercedes are the top dogs at the moment but we seem to be settling ourselves nicely in that next spot and I think we've just got to now try and somehow creep our way closer.

"All the talk about Seb, I'm sure that was going to pass very soon and he'll get to his World Champion form."
