Mark Webber believes Daniel Ricciardo has been flawless since taking over the second Red Bull seat from his countryman.
The Australian, who replaced Webber as Sebastian Vettel's team-mate at the end of last year, won his first ever Formula One race on in Canada on Sunday to end a run of six consecutive victories by Mercedes.
"It wasn't looking that exciting, but then I saw the Mercs have problems," Webber told NBC Sports' MotorSportsTalk.
"For Daniel to get his first win was incredible for him.
"He hasn't put a wheel wrong all year so far.
"There's been testing regulations, wet qualifyings, and all sorts of stuff that's been thrown at him. But for him to notch up his first win is a big step for him."
The victory at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve last week was the fifth consecutive race that Ricciardo finished ahead of his four-time World Champion team-mate.
He is also in third place on the Drivers' Championship standings - behind Mercedes pair Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton - having finished on the podium twice and fourth twice before the victory in Montreal.
