Bottas satisfied with his start

Despite having failed to score a single point, Valtteri Bottas says he's "more or less happy" with the start of his rookie season.

Bottas made the step up to race driver with Williams this season with much expected of the talented Finn.

However, his efforts have been largely undone by Williams FW35, which has proven to be difficult to drive and woefully off the pace.

As such neither Bottas nor his team-mate Pastor Maldonado has secured a single Championship point with their best results P11s.

"Personally, I'm more or less happy with what I've done. When you look back there are always things you could have done better," Bottas told PA.

"But it's not been a bad start. Some of the good things I am doing in the car are difficult to see from the outside.

"I've got positive feedback from the team, and pace wise I'm matching Pastor. We've been very close this season.

"So for a rookie year it's been good, but I know there is more to come and I'm learning more and more."

And the 23-year-old is confident that with hard work Williams can resolve their issues and maybe even nab their first point of the season in Monaco.

"No one expected we wouldn't have any points up until now because we were hoping to make a step forward from last year.

"It is what it is now, and hopefully this year we have a chance of finishing in the top 10 in some races if everything goes smoothly.

"We just need to work hard, try our best, and let's see if we can end up in the top 10, which should be the goal this weekend."
