Hamilton heads home to sick aunt

Lewis Hamilton returned to England on Saturday, reporting that his aunt has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

The McLaren driver, who is fighting for this year's World title, was taking advantage of the Formula One summer holiday to enjoy a relaxing break.

However, on Saturday he Tweeted the sad news of his aunt's illness.

"Will you please say a prayer for my auntie, she's dying from cancer & just been told she has weeks to live. I fly back to UK to see her," the McLaren driver wrote on Twitter.

"It's the toughest time for the family as it would be for any family. I can't wait to go see her, want to spend every second i can with her. Can't believe this is happening. Love u auntie Diane."

Formula One returns to action at the end of this month with the Belgian GP.
