HRT missing from 2013 entry list

HRT's Formula One career looks to be over after the team was omitted from the 2013 entry list for the World Championship.

The FIA published a 22-car entry list in the wake of Friday's deadline by which all teams had to pay for next year's Championship.

Under the regulations, HRT were expected to fork out $500,000 as they failed to score a single point this past season.

However, the team's future in F1 was in doubt after owner Thesan Capital put HRT up for sale last month.

Although they stated at the time that they had "a number of groups interested in buying the team", no-one came through.

Thus when Friday's deadline arose, HRT, which was founded by ex-Formula One driver Adrian Campos as Campos Meta back in 2010, failed to make the grid.

The team is expected to close its doors.

According to Autosport, "sources indicate that the team is now working to pay its creditors and that the plan is for the team to shut down without unpaid debts."

As for the official entry list, several names were missing despite only Lotus, Force India, Caterham and Marussia each having just one seat available.
