Webber: Singapore reprimand comical

Mark Webber has labelled his Singapore GP reprimand "comical" as he reckons it was a "great moment" for the fans.

Webber's RB9 broke down at the end of Sunday night's grand prix and caught fire, forcing the Red Bull racer to park it out on track.

The Aussie caught a lift back to the pits on Fernando Alonso's car, sitting on the side as the Ferrari driver completed his in-lap.

The duo's actions resulted in reprimands for both with Webber's being his third of the season and thus earning him an automatic 10-place grid penalty for the next race in Korea.

"For @alo_oficial and me to receive reprimands for our actions after the race it is comical to say the least. Great moment, and fans loved it," he tweeted.

As for claims that he was told by marshals not to return to the track to get a lift, the Aussie said: "And while I'm at it, contrary to reports ,there was no interaction at all with any track officials after we put the fire out."

Webber, who is retiring from F1 at the end of this season, also pointed out that Singapore Grand Prix steward Derek Warwick had himself caught a lift in the past.

Posting a picture of Warwick's taxi ride, he tweeted: "Looks like even one of the Singapore stewards has done it."
