Rosberg to test for Mercedes

Mercedes have confirmed that Nico Rosberg will drive on all three days of the Bahrain tyre test.

The Brackley-based squad will take part in the Pirelli three-day test at the Sakhir circuit from December 17-19, but only Rosberg will be in action with Lewis Hamilton skipping the event.

"Busy week ahead for the team both here in Brackley and out in Bahrain," Mercedes tweeted. "We will have @nico_rosberg driving all three days of the Pirelli test in Bahrain this week."

Mercedes will be joined by Red Bull, Ferrari and Toro Rosso, but the biggest names in F1 won't be in action as defending World Champion Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen will also sit out the event.

Line-up:

Red Bull: Sebastien Buemi - All three days.

Mercedes: Nico Rosberg - All three days.

Ferrari: Pedro de la Rosa - Days One & Two; Jules Bianchi - Day Three.

Toro Rosso: Jean-Eric Vergne - Day One and Day Two morning; Daniil Kvyat - Day Two afternoon & Day Three.
