Fittipaldi backs Massa, Williams link-up

Emerson Fittipaldi has backed Felipe Massa to shine at Williams as the Brazilian gears up for his first season in Grove.

After eight seasons with Ferrari, which included a runner-up result in the 2008 World Champion, Massa has switched teams.

The 32-year-old has joined former Champions Williams in what the team is hoping will be the start of their revival.

One person who reckons it could just be that is double World champion Fittipaldi.

"Felipe can do very well this year because of the changes to the rules and Williams have all the experience," he told TotalRace.

"Williams is a power [team]. They are in a difficult time but several teams go through that.

"McLaren for example, no one expected last year to be so bad and they are McLaren.

"Williams are motivated and Felipe is motivated. He will lead the team."
