Schumi 'won't give up'

Michael Schumacher's family has thanked everyone for their support in this difficult time.

The seven-time World Champion remains in an artificially induced coma at the Grenoble Hospital having suffered severe brain trauma while skiing.

And although his family did not give an update on the 45-year-old's condition, they have thanked his fans and football teams for their support.

"We are deeply touched by all the messages to get well soon for Michael which still are being sent," said the statement. "That gives us strength.

"Thank you all so much!

"Thank you to the Fanclub in Kerpen, to 1. FC Köln and Schalke 04 but also to everybody else and other fan groups who are supporting Michael.

"We all know, he is a fighter and will not give up!"

The last update on Schumacher from his manager Sabine Kehm was on Friday with her stated that his condition is "still considered as stable."
