Marussia's Bahrain test ended with a whimper and just five laps after "some component reliability issues" forced them into massive changes on Day Four.

This week's test at the Sakhir circuit has been anything but a success for Marussia.

The team only reached double figures in terms of laps completed on one day, Thursday, while the others read as three, four and five.

It was a dismal showing from the backmarker outfit which revealed that "a continuation of some component reliability issues" was the reason behind the lack of running.

Marussia, though, did work on some "revised components in order to resolve the problems" which arrived at the track on Saturday morning.

These were fitted to the car with Jules Bianchi finally heading out for the final ten minutes of the session where a red flag for a rival car put an end to his day.

"Nonetheless," Marussia said in a statement, "the expectation is that the new components will provide a better basis for next week's test here at the Bahrain International Circuit."
