Red Bull has appointed Dan Fallows as the new head of aerodynamics as Peter Prodromou prepares to head to McLaren.
Last year McLaren confirmed that they had signed Prodromou from Red Bull in the wake of the latter's fourth successive double in the Championships.
With his Red Bull contract set to expire in 2015, the reigning Champs have now placed Prodromou on 'gardening leave'
"We can confirm that Peter Prodromou has commenced a period of gardening leave; we would like to thank him for his valuable contribution during his time with the team," the team said in a statement on Wednesday.
Red Bull also announced his replacement with Fallows rejoining the Milton Keynes outfit.
"We are pleased to announce that Dan Fallows becomes Head of Aerodynamics at Infiniti Red Bull Racing with immediate effect.
"Dan has worked as part of the team's aerodynamic department for many years. Previously working as a Team Leader (Aerodynamics), he left the team for a short time last year.
"He has now returned to Infiniti Red Bull Racing to begin working in his new role."
McLaren, though, has now disputed Fallows's Red Bull appointment.
McLaren racing director Eric Boullier stated: "Dan Fallows has a legally binding contract with McLaren and the matter is now in the hands of our lawyers."
