Montezemolo continues restructuring

After replacing Stefano Domenicali with Marco Mattiacci early this month, Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo has continued to make changes at Ferrari.

The latest changes are centered on decreasing bureaucracy within the team, and simplifying the staff hierarchy so that the necessary improvements the team needs to move up the grid can be incorporated.

As a result, the large amount of outside consultants that have assisted the team in recent times have been slashed, with a bigger focus on areas Ferrari are confident of making immediate improvements.

"The aim of all these changes is for Ferrari to be able to react more quickly, ready to gather and make the most of information both drivers provide during race simulations, but above all, whenever they take to the track," a statement published on the Ferrari website revealed.

Additionally, Di Montezemolo has ordered external suppliers that are responsible for some of their updates to reduce their turn-around time, so that new parts can be delivered to Maranello sooner.

"I will discuss things with the chairman [Di Montezemolo], and clearly what is needed we will do," Mattiacci told Autosport at last week's Chinese Grand Prix.

"Even going to the market [to hire people] - but with a clear idea that it is not just for the sake of shopping.

"It is only if we find someone that will bring extremely added value to a team that according to all of us is one of the highest level teams in F1. That is the philosophy. What is needed will be done."
