Hakkinen hits out at Vettel

Mika Hakkinen has had a go at Sebastian Vettel for ignoring team orders, saying he could pay the price in the long run.

Not for the first time in his career, Vettel reacted badly when team orders were handed down that were not in his favour.

Told to move over for Daniel Ricciardo in China, the four-time World Champion said "tough luck".

Ricciardo later overtook the German and raced to fourth ahead of his team-mate.

The incident, though, has once again put a spotlight on Vettel.

"For Vettel it is a sad surprise that Ricciardo is constantly beating him, but the instructions of the team have to be followed," Auto Bild reports Hakkinen as having said.

This, however, is not the first time that Vettel has blatantly ignored team orders.

Last season in Malaysia it came to light when the German was order not to attack team-mate Mark Webber for the victory only to do so.

Hakkinen added in his column for Hermes: "Vettel is behaving in a way that will sooner or later hurt himself as such things one remembers when he wants to change teams.

He added that Vettel is not playing a "good game."
