'More titles awaited Senna'

Bruno Senna is convinced his uncle Ayrton would have won more F1 World titles had he not died in a crash at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.

Although Senna secured just three Drivers' Championships during his life, the Brazilian is rated by many as the best driver ever to have raced.

During his time in F1, he won 41 grands prix, claimed 65 pole positions and 80 podiums. He also won three titles, 1988; 1990 and 1991.

So it's no wonder Bruno, a former driver himself, says more titles awaited his uncle.

"It's fair to assume that Ayrton would have won more world championships, because his Williams car was very competitive for the next few years," Bruno told The Telegraph.

"Unless something extraordinary had happened, he would have been at the top of the game.

"Ayrton was definitely very determined on the track. He wouldn't let anything get in his way, let's put it like that.

"He knew he had the ability, the opportunity, and that he wanted it more than the other guys.

"That explains why he was always on the edge, why he was so committed to keep pushing, and why he was so successful. That was his personality."
