Newey signs new Red Bull deal

Red Bull have put an end to rumours surrounding Adrian Newey by re-signing him on a new "multi-year agreement."

Earlier this year - and not for the first time - Newey was linked to a possible move to Ferrari with the Scuderia looking to bolster their technical department.

Red Bull insisted he was not leaving while the Brit, who joined Red Bull in 2006, added that he was "committed" to Red Bull Racing.

That commitment has now been set in stone with a new multi-year contract that will see Newey focusing on more than just Formula 1.

In announcing the new deal, Red Bull revealed that as "part of this new agreement, Adrian will work on new Red Bull Technology projects, as well as advising and mentoring Infiniti Red Bull Racing as it develops its Formula One cars over the next few seasons.

"The details of the new projects will be announced in due course."
