Patrick all but rules out F1 future

Although Danica Patrick would be Gene Haas' "dream" driver as he ventures in F1, the team boss has not approached the American.

Patrick has been linked to a possible race-seat when Haas' Formula 1 team makes it debut in the 2016 Championship.

The team boss recently claimed that she would be his "dream" driver.

"She is a woman in a man's sport - that would attract a lot of attention," he told Formula1.com.

"She weighs about 50 kilos - which these day sounds fantastic - so indeed she's got a lot of attributes that would be good to have."

But while the co-owner of NASCAR's Stewart-Haas team has been speaking to the media about the 32-year-old, Patrick says he has yet to approach her.

"I agree that anything is possible, but nobody has said anything to me," she told The Toronto Sun. "I am happy where I am at right now as far as racing goes.

"I am just starting to get the hang of Sprint Cup racing."

And although Patrick would give Haas the time if he wanted to speak with her, she reckons at 32 her days of swapping series are over.

"Out of respect for Gene, if he came to me I would certainly listen, but I am almost getting too old to start a third career," she added.
