Toro Rosso and Renault have reportedly been cleared of any wrongdoing after holding a recent indoor engine test.

Earlier this month, reports emerged claiming that Renault had held a six-day test at the Austrian AVL facility.

The French engine supplier allegedly ran a Toro Rosso on a rolling road in the windtunnel.

Renault's head of trackside operations Remi Taffin downplayed the reports.

"As far as we were concerned, it was to support Toro Rosso and try to get one more way to close the [performance] gap that we had at that point," he said.

"Any dynos that would be available we could use - so we took the opportunity. It was just trying to get more dynos than what we had in Viry."

Following the reports the FIA stepped in to investigate.

According to Autosport, motorsport's governing body has now cleared both Toro Rosso and Renault of any wrongdoing in the matter.

The publication states that the FIA have confirmed that the test was "fully in compliance with the rules".
