No radical overhaul for MP4-29

McLaren will continue to develop their MP4-29 for the rest of the year as they look to build on their mini-revival.

Having gone three races without scoring points a few months ago, the team's racing director Eric Boullier admitted they could be forced into radical changes in an attempt to get the car up to speed.

However, Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen have picked up 38 points in the last three races, giving the team something to work on.

"There won't be any radical change now. Also, we have really found the policy or strategy so we're going to push as hard and as long as possible the development of this car, the 29A, as long as we can carry over the concept of next year's car," Boullier said during a McLaren phone-in.

Much of McLaren's optimism is due to their performance at Silverstone where Button just missed out on a podium with Magnussen finishing seventh.

Boullier confirmed they will now follow the line of development they used for the British GP.

"The correlation and upgrade package we brought, originally for Silverstone but it went to Austria, is doing well so now we are doing the same and pushing to bring every upgrade one race earlier," he said.

"So in Germany we'll bring more upgrades than originally scheduled."
