Jos downplays Max to Toro Rosso talk

Days after Max Verstappen joined the Red Bull Junior Team, his dad Jos has downplayed speculation that he could race for Toro Rosso in 2015.

Earlier this week, Red Bull confirmed that the 16-year-old Dutch race has signed up with their outfit.

"We are very pleased to announce that Max Verstappen has accepted our invitation to join the Red Bull Junior Team," said a statement from Red Bull.

"This is effective immediately and the 16-year-old will continue his Formula 3 campaign at the Nurburgring this weekend as a Red Bull Junior."

This led to some talk about Verstappen maybe even entering Formula 1 next season with Red Bull's junior F1 team, Toro Rosso.

However, his father Jos - a former F1 racer - is not getting carried away.

"Max to Toro Rosso? We will wait and see," said Jos.

"We will discuss this together with Red Bull as they continue with Max."
