Ferrari technical director James Allison believes having a reliable car at the start of this season will be key to winning the Championship.
Ferrari launched their 2014 car, the F14T, at Maranello on Saturday, vowing that this will be the season that they end Red Bull's reign.
However, in order to achieve race victories and World titles, Allison says they first need reliability.
"The importance of aerodynamics to the Championship is going to be at least as important as the differences in power levels between the various engine manufacturers," he said.
"However, if I had to choose the thing that was likely to be the dominant factor for the whole season, I would choose neither the level of power nor the aerodynamic development.
"I would say that this year reliability is going to be absolutely fundamental."
The F1 teams will have just 12 days to achieve reliability during pre-season testing, which kicks off at Jerez on Tuesday.
