Kimi pragmatic over unfortunate crash

All is "fine" with Kimi Raikkonen following his 47g impact into the barriers at the Silverstone circuit.

The Ferrari driver will take to the Hockenheim grid this weekend after confirming that he is fine having initially had a bit of pain in his ribs.

"I crashed, I think you saw it," he said during Thursday's press conference at the Hockenheimring.

"I had some pain afterwards, not so much in my leg, but more in my ribs. That was why I did not drive in the (Silverstone) test, but it's all fine now."

Asked about whether that had been his biggest crash to date, he added: "Probably! And hopefully there won't be too many more.

"It hurt, but sometimes it's the really slow accidents when you can get badly hurt.

"The Silverstone crash was just unfortunate, it was nothing serious and just part of this sport."

The crash at the British GP meant Raikkonen fell even further off the pace in the standings in what has been a difficult season.

But despite his woes, the Finn is confident he will be on next year's grid.

"I believe the situation will turn around at some point, as it can't go on much longer like this," he maintained.

"It's true it's no fun, but we have been in this situation before and always managed to turn it around. I strongly believe we can fix the issues and be back where we should be.

"How soon? I hope quickly but I am not worried about my future."
