Red Bull, McLaren end legal dispute

The Formula One teams of Red Bull and McLaren have ended the dispute they had over the acclaimed aerodynamicist Dan Fallows.

According to an Autosport report earlier this year, McLaren threatened to take Red Bull to court after Fallows opted to remain at the Milton Keynes team instead of taking up a new position with the Woking outfit.

While neither side was willing to budge for several weeks, an agreement was made in principle between McLaren Group CEO Ron Dennis during last week's Canadian Grand Prix that will see the dispute end out of court.

Although the exact details of the agreement is unknown, Autosport reports that it doesn't involve any financial implications for either side and that McLaren is likely to be allowed to continue with their recruitment of former Red Bull aerodynamics chief Peter Prodromou as a result.

Prodromou signed a deal to join McLaren at the start of next season, but Autosport understands that he will now be allowed to join them sooner.

"I have a handshake with Mr Dennis which, being a gentleman and a man of his word, means we have an understanding," Horner told Autosport.

"That is for you to speculate and me to know," Horner added when asked about the early release of Prodromou.

A McLaren spokesman added: "Ron and Christian have indeed discussed a number of outstanding issues recently, yes, and they have resolved them. As Christian says, a handshake is all you need with Ron.
