No legal issues for Sutil

Adrian Sutil has claimed that there are no legal issues preventing him from racing in Formula One next season.

The German has been linked with a return to Force India after spending a year on the sidelines, with a vacancy opening up at the team following Nico Hulkenberg's move to Sauber.

However, there where question marks over whether Sutil's conviction for grievous bodily harm in January after an incident in a nightclub - a conviction he is serving an 18-month suspended sentence for - would prevent him from gaining the necessary clearance to take part in all the season's grand prix.

Speaking at the Race of Champions in Bangkok, Sutil dismissed such suggestions.

"My management and I checked all the countries and there is no problem for me to travel. That is why I am able to be here," he explained.

"All my problems last winter are solved. It will be a new start."

The 29-year-old insists he is calm as he awaits a decision from Force India, with the matter no longer in his control.

"The signature is what counts. They know who I am and how to work with me; in the last five years we got a lot of experience," he said.

"There's not a lot to say, it's up to (team principal) Vijay (Mallya), it's his decision, and hopefully he will make the right one so I am in the car.

"I'm quite relaxed; I know how to handle this situation, I've done the maximum I can do at the moment and now it's up to them to decide if I'm in the seat or not."
