Hulkenberg: Drivers strike not possible

Although it has been spoken about, Nico Hulkenberg has ruled out the drivers striking over unpaid wages.

Unpaid wages made headlines last season when it emerged that even Lotus were struggling to pay their drivers and were behind in payments to Kimi Raikkonen.

That ultimately led to the Finnish driver calling it quits on his Lotus career and signing with Ferrari.

Raikkonen, though, wasn't only the driver who wasn't paid.

Hulkenberg, according to Sky Sports News is one driver who reportedly has not received money from 'employers of past and present.'

This led to speculation in the German media that a strike could be on the cards.

The Force India driver, though, has ruled it out.

"It is an issue which we have been discussing in the GPDA," Hulkenberg told Sky Sports News.

"It's not something we like, and in the pinnacle of motorsport it is not good to have, and we are trying to work on this issue.

"In the media, there have been reports of striking, but that is not what we have discussed in the GPDA.

"Yes, we have talked about the issue and we want measures against it, but a strike is not a possibility."

Pressed as to whether he was having problems with payments at present, Hulkenberg said that all is okay with Force India but that he still has some outstanding issues with Sauber.

"No, not at moment. My current team is pretty good with that. But I still had and have some issues with that as well."
