Raikkonen, Ricciardo penalised

Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Ricciardo have been hit with two-place grid penalties for the Canadian GP after lining up incorrectly in the pit lane.

With Q2 red flagged with just 1:59 remaining in the session, there was a mad dash from all the drivers to get in one last flying lap before the session concluded.

As such the drivers lined up at the end of pit lane, waiting for the lights to go green.

But while some queued by Esteban Gutierrez, the first driver out, others opted to line up next to the Sauber driver instead of behind him.

Five drivers; Raikkonen, Ricciardo, Jean-Eric Vergne, Sergio Perez and Pastor Maldonado; were called before the stewards after qualifying for the alleged infringement.

However, only Raikkonen and Ricciardo were penalised.

Raikkonen loses just one place because his penalty was applied before Ricciardo's. He will start from 10th, with the Australian in 11th.
