Raikkonen won't change his approach

Kimi Raikkonen won't adopt a different approach in the run-in to Brazil despite having announced that he will be leaving Lotus at the end of the season.

On Wednesday it was confirmed that the Finn would be returning to Ferrari next season where he will partner Fernando Alonso.

Asked if he expects any changes in the wake of the announcement, the 33-year-old said: "Hopefully it means I won't be asked so much where I'm driving next year, but maybe it means more questions.

"For my racing this season it doesn't make any difference. I'll keep pushing at every race to get the best result I can."

And that push will resume next weekend in Singapore where Raikkonen says he'll be chasing a top-three finish.

"Obviously, the podium is a target again," he said. "We've had two races without scoring any points so we need to score as many as we can in the remaining races this season."

Every point counts towards his Championship quest although Raikkonen's DNF in Belgian and his P11 in Italy have seen him fall to fourth in the standings.

The Finn now trails Sebastian Vettel by 88 points with 175 still to play for.

"You don't win Championships by not scoring points. We've had two races where we haven't scored which is not ideal," said Raikkonen. "We're here to race and score as many points as we can.

"Of course, that's what everyone is trying to do so we just have to keep pushing and hope that we have some pretty good races for the rest of the year, then we'll see where we end up in the standings."
