Maldonado: Feels like a double engine

Pastor Maldonado has hailed Renault's latest updates, revealing that the engine he ran in testing was "much quicker, much more powerful."

The Venezuelan driver was in action at Silverstone on Tuesday, the first of two days of in-season testing.

His trouble-free run allowed him to experience the full power of Renault's latest updates having previously only run the old spec due to problems.

"It's like a double engine now!" Maldonado told Crash.net. "It's much quicker, much more powerful.

"After the race [British GP] we were checking the data and we were more than 60 horsepower less than normal. So we were losing a lot."

The Lotus driver confirmed that he would run the updated engine at the next race in Germany.

"In the next race yes, because we don't have any [old engines]," he said. "We will take the new one."
