Sutil not surprised by Senna deal

Adrian Sutil's manger has revealed that Bruno Senna's move to Williams was not a shock, admitting Sutil's talks with the team ended in mid-December...

Following his axing from Force India, Sutil was one of those in the running for the second seat at Williams. The German stated last year that he had held talks with the team, but now his manager, Manfred Zimmermann, has revealed that it has been known for some time that the 29-year-old would not be joining the Grove-based outfit.

"The announcement of Bruno Senna as a Williams driver does not surprise us," he told Motor-Total.com. "For us, that issue was already settled two weeks ago. The negotiations with Williams ended in mid-December due to differing ideas."

It is believed that the length of a potential contract was the stumbling block between the two parties.

With only one seat left on the grid for 2012, at HRT, Sutil looks set for a spell on the periphery. Zimmermann, has been quoted in the German press as saying that the drive would use 2012 as a transition year as he positions himself for a better drive in 2013.
