Trio begin Young Driver test

Williams, Marussia and HRT hit the Silverstone circuit on Thursday morning for the start of their two-day Young Driver test.

Although it was initially thought that the bulk of the Formula One teams would test at Silverstone, forgoing the Abu Dhabi outing later in the season, the scales were tipped last week as the rain came down in England.

The wet weather, which severely hampered the opening two days of the British Grand Prix, prompted all but Williams, Marussia and HRT to instead sign up for the Abu Dhabi test.

Valtteri Bottas is in action for Williams for this week's two-day test, giving the Finn the opportunity to expand on his Friday practice running while HRT have opted for Ma Qing Hua, who will be making his F1 debut.

Marussia is the only team splitting the running between two drivers, Max Chilton and Rio Haryanto.

Chilton will be in action on the first morning and the final afternoon while Haryanto will get behind the wheel on the first afternoon and the Friday morning.

PlanetF1 will bring you all the news from the test.
