Bottas: A little bit more to come

Valtteri Bottas believes there is still "a little bit more to come" after failing to get in a perfect lap on the supersofts in Canada.

Last season in his debut campaign in Formula 1, the Finnish racer qualified third in the wet at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

During the race, though, he dropped and finished well outside the points in 14th place, a lap down.

This year qualifying is expected to take place in the dry, although that doesn't mean Bottas won't be fighting at the front.

The Williams driver was seventh in Friday's second place, 0.775s off the pace, but later revealed that he never managed a clean lap on the supersoft tyres.

"It was more or less what we expected," he said.

"We got some good results from the changes we made from the last race, so it was nice to see some progress.

"It seems like everyone is still struggling with tyre warm-up with the prime, but the option felt a lot better.

"I still think we can improve our overall performance from today.

"I didn't have the perfect lap yet with the supersoft, so I think there's a little bit more to come.
