Raikkonen downplays Friday's woes

Kimi Raikkonen insists his engine problem in Friday's practice in Brazil is "not the end of the world."

The Finn was sidelined after just three laps in first practice at the Interlagos circuit as his Lotus mechanics worked to fix an ignition coil problem.

Spending over half the session in the garage, Raikkonen eventually ventured out for the final 20 minutes, covering 11 laps.

The Abu Dhabi GP winner, though, was able to complete a full session later in the day where he covered 39 laps and finished with the 12th fastest time.

"We had a problem in the morning but it's just one of those things; you don't want it to happen, but it's not the end of the world," Raikkonen said.

"It's unfortunate it took a while to fix as we missed time on track. Other than that, it was a very normal Friday for us.

"It was quite difficult to find a good set-up so we tried quite a few things.

"Tricky is usually the way for our Fridays and we've always been able to find a better set-up for Saturday so that's exactly what we'll try to do for tomorrow."
