Webber let off with a reprimand

Mark Webber will retain his third place on the CoTA grid after being let off with just a reprimand for missing a weight check.

The Aussie was called near the end of Q1 to bring his RB8 in to be weighed. However, he failed to pitch.

He went on to qualify in third place for the United States GP, a position the stewards have allowed him to keep.

"The driver failed to proceed directly to the FIA garage for weighing when signalled to do so," said a statement from the stewards.

"However upon realising the error, the team brought the car back to the FIA garage immediately."

Webber's P3 means he is starting on the clean side of the grid with the Aussie hoping to help his team wrap up the Constructors' Championship come Sunday.

"I'm happy to be third on the grid. We can have a strong grand prix from there. It's a great job by team," he said.

"We've got our eye on the Constructors' Championship and trying to put that to bed."
