Massa backs Alonso over Kimi

Felipe Massa believes Fernando Alonso could have the edge over Kimi Raikkonen this season as he is a "very intelligent" driver.

For the first time ever, Alonso will take on Raikkonen in equal machinery as the duo make up the Scuderia's new driver pairing.

It promises to be one of the most exciting partnerships with many keen to see who will come out on top.

Giving his thoughts on the subject, Massa, who has teamed up with both drivers in the past, reckons Alonso could have the edge in light of the new regulations.

"Because he [Alonso] is very intelligent, he's already worked out the new regulations and he knows what he needs to do to be quick straight away," the new Williams driver told JamesAllenonF1.

"He combines talent with savvy. He has a lively intelligence and that is what is needed with this change of regulations.

"Then again the cars are very different and you never know, they may suit Kimi's style better than Fernando's, we will see."
