Alonso may 'one day' contest Le Mans

As a number of former F1 drivers took part in this weekend's 24 Hours of Le Mans race, Fernando Alonso revealed he'd like to try his hand one day.

Alonso attended this year's race in France and had the honour of waving the flag to get the 24-hour event underway.

Taking part were several former F1 drivers, including Mark Webber; Nick Heidfeld, Bruno Senna, Marc Gene and Giancarlo Fisichella.

And one day Alonso's name could also be in the line up for the world's most famous endurance race.

"Well I'm the first time here for me, so it's a completely new experience, and try to enjoy this weekend that I'm not in the car, and let these guys compete," he told Eurosport.

"It's a race that's very attractive for all of the drivers, it's very prestigious, so yes, I think one day before later I'll come here."
