Fernando Alonso has played down Daniel Ricciardo's chances of winning the Championship, insisting Mercedes' advantage remains too big.
Ricciardo made the most of the in-fighting at Mercedes at Spa over the weekend, claiming his third win of the season to reduce Nico Rosberg's lead in the Drivers' standings to 64 points.
The Australian is the only driver besides the Merc duo Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton to have won this season, but according to Autosport, Alonso still believes the title is a too far out of Ricciardo's reach.
Asked if the Red Bull driver was still in with a shout after his win the Ferrari man replied: "No, I don't think so.
"Obviously he's doing an amazing job and he's surprising everyone, but the Mercedes advantage... in qualifying they were two seconds clear.
"When they finish the races they will keep increasing their advantage.
"But if any of the rest can do it, at the moment it's only Ricciardo."
