It was another frustrating weekend for Jenson Button in Monaco as he lost further ground in the Championship after failing to finish the race.
After a disastrous qualifying session saw him start P12 on the grid, the McLaren driver got off to a slow start and found himself stuck in P14 behind Heikki Kovalainen for most of the race.
He finally attempted to duck past the Caterham on lap 70, but the cars made contact and he was forced to head back to the pits to park his car.
Button admits his poor race was all down to his performance in qualifying.
"If someone places their car well and has good exits it's very difficult," he told BBC Sport.
"That's part of racing but it's so frustrating when you are so much faster than the car in front. It's just one of those things.
"It comes from a bad qualifying and being unlucky at the start. We were more prone to incidents. It was a tough afternoon but congratulations to [race winner] Mark [Webber], he's a good lad and it obviously livens up the Championship. Hopefully we'll have our day soon."
