Webber: It's a win that you'll take

Mark Webber says he'll take the Brazilian GP win, thank you very much, even if it did come at his team-mate Sebastian Vettel's expense.

Webber inherited the lead at the Interlagos circuit on lap 30 when Vettel's gearbox problem was upgraded to "serious" forcing the German to turn down his engine.

The Aussie, though, was by no means the first driver in Formula One history to be gifted a victory through another's problems, nor will he be the last.

"Yeah I feel very good, the car has felt good all weekend," said Webber, who marked his first win of the Championship in Brazil

"Seb did a great job for pole but today I had the rub of the green. It would have been nice to race Seb all the way though, but he had a little problem.

"It's a win that you'll take, for Seb that's bad luck or whatever you want to call it, but it's a very important win for me and team.

"It's great to finish on a high. I enjoyed the last few laps in particular, as it's always nice to pit later and cover people off.

"It was a nice way to finish, and I'd like to dedicate this victory to a close friend of myself and my family, Bob Woods, he's a very ill man at the moment."

The Brazilian GP was the first time this season that Webber beat Vettel to a race victory, having been soundly trounced by the German, who stormed to the 2011 Drivers' Championship title.

However, Webber is adamant he will be back stronger next season, saying Sunday's victory was a soothing balm on a somewhat wounded season.

"I think I will have a stronger season than this year," he said.

"I started off poorly for different reasons, but we will look at all areas to get to the highest level. When the bar is at the highest level I don't just look at Seb. There is Jenson, Fernando, these guys are on the top pace.

"It is a good tonic for me this race. It's good to sign off the RB7 like this.

"I will have it over the winter. We were concrete in many areas and that made it hard for the opposition. I'm looking forward to learning how to surf over the winter, backing off, recharging a bit and then coming back stronger."
